THE SETTING
The Woodlands Center, begun in 1997, sits on
thirty acres of gently rolling hills located in
the beautiful Hill Country
of Texas. The home city of Burnet is the official bluebonnet
capital of the state.
Each spring the landscape comes alive with fields of lush bluebonnets
and acres of Indian paint brush, buttercups, Indian blanket and countless
others. People drive from miles around to see
the large patch of bluebells that bloom through the middle of the
Woodlands Campus.
THE PEOPLE
The Woodlands is a community where people have caring friends and neighbors
who look out for each other, who play
together and who pray together. The people of the Woodlands represent
a variety of church backgrounds--Baptist, Methodist, Episcopalian, Lutheran,
Catholic, Church of Christ and others. They come from a variety of places--Arizona,
New Mexico, Missouri, Vermont, Texas, Florida, Nevada, and Kansas. However,
they have at least one thing in common--they like the life style of
life-estate living at the Woodlands.
THE HOUSES
The houses at the Woodlands are all brick, all electric homes in which
quality is not sacrificed regardless of the size of the house. There
are no set floor plans which means that residents may design floor plans
to suit themselves. Plans are flexible and the allowances are liberal.
Prices are determined by the size of the house and currently run from
$90 to $100 per square foot range based on the heated and cooled areas
only. Periodic construction price increases affect the cost of a house.
